The reception and dinner are the County’s way of saying thank you to all our Committee Members for the hard work you have done for the County, your club and rugby in general over the past season. The last few dinners have been outstanding successes with very impressive guest speakers and this year is no exception as we are delighted to announce that the current President of the Rugby Football Union, Chriss Kelly, will propose the toast to Middlesex Rugby.

Chris has been the England Rugby Football Schools Union Representative on the RFU Council since 1997 and has held many roles for the RFU, including a major review of the Union Schools and Youth A Grade Rugby and latterly the Player Development Pathway.

Chris’s rugby playing career started at the age of 11at Raynes Park Grammar School and then at Durham University where he captained the 1st XV. He went on to play for English Universities and then captained the UAU Combined English and Welsh Universities. His senior rugby was played for Harlequins 1st XV for four years and he represented Surrey in the County Championship. He retired due to injury and took up coaching where he gained the RFU top Coaching Award.

Similar to previous years, the evening will begin with a drinks reception at 7.00pm in the Clive Room, followed at 7.30pm by a four course dinner accompanied by fine wines, port and coffee, in the East India Room. The evening will finish around 10.30pm and the American Bar will be open until 11.00pm.

The County is heavily subsidising the Dinner and providing a complimentary and generous bar beforehand and, as previously, I must ask you to make a small contribution of £40.00 towards the cost of the evening.

The numbers of diners will again be restricted to 64. Last year was full, so to guarantee your place please complete the online reply form by clicking the RSVP link below no later than Friday 1st February.

RSVP

Depending on the numbers attending, if you would be interested in bringing a guest at the full price of £75.00, please tick the appropriate box on the reply form. I will contact you about this if there is availability after the 3rd February.

To comply with the East India Club regulations, the dress code for the evening is lounge suit or blazer with tie for gentlemen, and cocktail dress or business attire for ladies. No denim is permitted.

The President and Officers look forward to greeting you on the evening.
Kind regards
