Friends of Middlesex Rugby
Become a Friend of Middlesex Rugby and support sport in Middlesex. Built on the ethos of Believe & Belong, our new Friends scheme aims to raise funds to support grassroots rugby across the county and to help our County representative squads to develop their skills further through quality player development programmes.
BELIEVE in building a better future for the game and for young sports people
BELONG to an exclusive group which helps young people achieve their sporting dreams and
yields substantial benefits for members through supporting sport
Middlesex Rugby is part funded by the RFU and by its member clubs, and as an official constituent body of the RFU we are a not-for-profit organisation. Every year we have to dip into our capital reserves to fund initiatives which help sustain our clubs by bringing new players to the game, offering more inclusive rugby in all its formats across the County through competitions, tournaments and ‘pitch up and play’ sessions and through the recruitment and development of referees, coaches and volunteers.
Together with our partners at Middlesex County Cricket Club, we have put together a comprehensive range of privileges for Friends of Middlesex Rugby to help them support sport in Middlesex, including the right to apply for International rugby tickets and a substantial discount on MCCC membership.
All we ask in return is that you become a Friend and help us sustain rugby across the county.
If you love cricket, you probably love rugby too. And if you do, as a member of Middlesex County Cricket Club we have a treat in store for you. Middlesex Rugby and Middlesex Cricket have formed a partnership under the ‘Support Sport in Middlesex’ banner to jointly support and promote sporting events throughout the county.
Members of MCCC can become a Friend of Middlesex Rugby for just £25.00 which represents a 50% reduction on the membership fee.
You will need to know your Middlesex County Cricket Club membership number to take advantage of this special membership offer.
Let’s be friends…
I am proud to be associated with Middlesex Rugby – the county where I played most of my first class rugby, and the work that they are doing to support the growth and development of grassroots rugby across the county.
Without the work that goes on behind the scenes within all our counties, and the volunteers who run the community game, rugby would grind to a halt at all but the most senior levels. I’ve been fortunate to be able to stay so closely involved at the top of the game after I hung my boots up. But it’s vital that we nurture the grassroots game too.
The youngsters who turn out to play mini rugby at their local club every weekend are the stars of the future. Some will follow their heroes to wear the England shirt. To get them there, we need to keep them involved in the game through the agegroups to adult rugby by providing great facilities, great coaching and a thriving and fun rugby environment.
This is the aim of the Friends of Middlesex Rugby – to raise funds to further develop grassroots rugby and help young people across the county to achieve their sporting dreams. That’s why I’m proud to support Middlesex Rugby and particularly their Friends scheme.
For a very small outlay, there are some truly great benefits – not least of which is the knowledge that as Friends, we’re supporting sport across the county. I’ve already joined, and I would urge you to do the same.
